The Mission of the St Louis Camera Club is to promote the art and science of photography in a social environment where photographers of all skill levels are welcomed. The Club embraces the advancement of photography through member education, innovation, technology and creativity.

A Message From The President

Earlier this week on June 7 2017,  the St Louis Camera Club held its annual Awards Night event. This is an evening when we announce and celebrate class advancements, point milestone achievements and the Image of the Year results. As always, it is a festive event with food, beverage and great company. This is the result of a year of hard work by our member photographers. An event like this takes a lot of work by a group of people to make all the "magic" occur and I'd like to thank all of those involved. We couldn't do this without a chain of volunteers to take us from our membership in the club, to our digital entry on the web site then the programs and judging, recording of results that culminates at the end of the year into this evening.

I know I'm leaving out a lot but special thanks have go to Randy Oleson (webmaster), Donna Parrone (VP and Awards Night MC), Jeff Hirsch (projection), Tony Vogel (recorder) and the many others that helped make this evening a success.

Congratulations of all of our members that advanced in class! We have some strong new members that will help move the bar up for all of us!

Our Image Of The Year winners, Dilip Patel (PID and Travel), Jennifer Mishra (Photojournalism), Allen Ahner (Nature), Cindy Lynch (Color Print) and Fred Emch (Monochrome Print). Fred was the overall St Louis Camera Club Image of the Year winner with his wonderful black and white print of the Grand Hall! Congratulations to all for their inspirational images!

The St Louis Camera Club has been in operation for 103 years and I believe is the premier camera club in the area. This club can only function with the work of numerous volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact any board member or section chair. We have opportunities if you have some time!

Enjoy the summer, take lots of great photos and we'll see you at the picnic in August!

Paul
