A trip to Elephant Rocks State Park is a pleasure any time of the year. For photography, winter, spring and fall months are usually much better.

This is a very popular location and crowds can become quite large during weekends and during the summer months.

The unique natural featurs are the "Elephant Rocks" themselves.

The park has plaques that describe the erosional process of the granite boulders quite well. Tinajitas, weather pot holes, are quire numerous in parts of the area. These hold moisture for some time after it rains.

This is one location that seems to never run out of good images, if one looks hard and long enough.

Directions: From Farmington, Missouri, at the intersection of US Highway 67 and Country W Highway, travel west on W Hwy to Missouri Highway 21. Travel north Highway 21 approximately 1 mile and look for the park signs. There are trail guilds and information in the park.
