The Munson site being 5 acres makes it quite large. The richness of plant species (over 200) and the number of occurrences of state rarities make this area special. The prairie is a mesic black soil, the richest type. A trip to the area anytime from May through September would be good. There are many showy plants and animals that amek this a photographer's and naturalist's delight.
As always, your safety and comfort is your responsibility. Wear protective clothing and a hat. Bring water and food accordingly and any medications you may need.
Minor and major inconviences ruin any trip. Plan accordingly and enjoy. |
