The St. Louis Camera Club has been a member of the Photographic Society since 1940. During 2007 more than 35 club members have joined PSA. The PSA Journal (a monthly publication free to members) starting in January 2008 will have a new feature "The New Member Gallery" and the St. Louis Camera Club is the first club to be so honored in this new feature. | PSA: What Is It? | ||||
| The Photographic Society of America is commonly referred to as PSA. The organization is a world-wide association of individual photographers, camera clubs, etc. Functionally, it is very much like a nationwide camera club. It has competitions, teaching programs and essentially everything a camera club has. Participating in PSA's activities is a great way to improve your photography and get an edge up on your fellow club competitors. Many members of the St. Louis Camera Club entered the 2007 PSA Exhibition in a variety of sections. The club's entry to the Electronic Imaging Division - Open Section received more points than any other camera club in the world. Hence Kathy O'Donnell, PSA Region 4 Director, presented the award to the club at the September 5, 2007 meeting. The individuals looking at the award are some of the entrants. PSA: New Member Web Site PSA, like the St. Louis Camera Club, has a strong orientation toward new members helping them get started. Now there is a web site dedicated to helping new PSA members.
